Op Ed: Rwanda, rhetoric and a government march to the far-right

Following the UK government announcement of plans to deport asylum seekers to Rwanda, and its passing of the Nationality and Borders Bill, I wrote for The New Arab about legal, rhetorical and practical shifts into far-right territory – and questioned why Britain’s history of racism, colonialism and xenophobia is largely overlooked by an international press otherwise comfortable to name European politicians voicing similar policy proposals as proto-fascist.
